Leonardo: That Leader Guy

Weapon of Choice: Katanas.
Namesake's Landmark Work: Arguably the Mona Lisa, although the Last Supper is right up there.

When aproaching a bio for a TMNT member, you gotta look at the great scheme of everything that has happened in all the continuties. Do you acknoweldge that Leo lost a hand? Do you treat him as 16, or 18... or 30?
For all the complexities that come about when you realize that no one that wrote any of the shows or comic books had a freaking clue about continuity, there are certain things that remain the same about the characters (well... unless you look at the Image series, which we won't). For starters, Leo is generally the leader.
I state that as generally, as, beside the obvious fact that Raph barely listens to anyone, let alone Leo, each turtle in their own way leads the team. Leo though, is the courage, the wisdom, the discipline. He's also got that snazzy blue color, and a couple of spiffy swords.
Leonardo goes in for the training. As illustrated in a few of the various serieses (gods, is that a word?), Leo really goes all out when he trains. He pushes himself. He works the hardest, goes the farthest. Many say this is because of his closet Gatorade addiction. He's up to 2 packs a day of the 12 oz bottles. He's gets the jitters after a while if he doesn't drink enough. It's quite sad.
Of course, some could argue he's gotta have a lot of training, if for no other reason that to keep up with the other guys in the crew. Raph just opperates off pure rage. Usually that carries the red guy pretty far... unless theres a big trap setup by Shredder which employs a rooftop and a lot of footsolders, plus an eventual fire... This happens more often than you may think.
Donatello has evolved into the turtle with all the gadgets. Of course, as time goes by, he's able to make more and more gadgets, while at the start he could just fix some stuff around the house... How's a turtle to compete with a guy with inventions that could fillet someone for 500 yards?
And there's Mike... well, he's fun loving... all right, Leo doesn't have much competition there.
But when you don't have rage and your don't have inventions, and yet you have drive to do more than eat pizza, you gotta find your niche. Leo trains... as I've noted, he trains a lot. You might think this would make him a boring kinda guy... and it does. He's very much into the ninja, so much so that his personality kinda gets overwritten by the whole "train now, all of you," attitude. It makes him really bossy.
"Hey, Leo, let's go grab a slice."
"No. Train! Ten flips, now!"
Although, he could just be bossy because he's the eldest. As if that was a fair trick to pull. So he got douced by glowing gel first. Big deal...
Whatever the reason for his attitude and his focus, deep down we all know the truth. Leo's a closet My Little Pony fan. He has the whole run from 1985. He'd have '86 too, but he can't seem to get a couple of the ponies in mint condition. He's quite picky.
