Tales of Leo (Season 1, Episode 19)

When I go up to Boston to visit friends, I can depend on seeing the new TMNT show. It's on in the morning, and I'm never alive before 4 PM when I'm at home. Luckily, I'm forced out of bed at a human time, as opposed to my normal schedule.
That's a totally useless aside that explains nothing about the current episode, but eh, I felt like sharing. Today's episode focuses on the time our heros spend up at Casey's cabin in the woods. Those of us that watched the movie or read the comic will recognize this plotline. Leo is unconcious, and the heroes had to flee the city after a surprise attack by the Mighty Mighty Foot-tones.
So, as a way to spend time sitting up at a cabin in the middle of nowhere, in the snow, the turtles swap stories about Leo. It's a bonding episode, and really, quite bad. All the drippy sweetness the show is trying to convey about brothers and familial love just comes off as funny. Bleh.
Donnie shares a story of how Leo saved him once when he almost drowned (sidebar - can turtles, being amphibians, really drown that easily?).
Raph shares a story of stupidity and bravery, and how Leo saved the day when they met a huge, albino sewer-gator.
Splinter shares a story of how he helped Leo get over a fear of hieghts.
Mikey went out for pizza.
In the end, Leo wakes up, we have a teary moment, and everyone in the audience checks the TV Guide to see what else is on.
Big yawner. Of course, I'll still tune in when I can.
Score: 3.9
