Inverted Dungeon Updates: 2017

July 11, 2017

As you probably already noticed (it is pretty obvious, after all), the site has been redesigned. Don't worry, we didn't scrap all the old content again (once was enough) -- everything we've worked on for the last two years as part of ReBirth is still here. We just felt like a new coat of paint was needed, something a little more mobile-friendly (since that's apparently a thing people expect from us now). Plus it allowed us to tweak some code and make everything better.

We originally intended to launch this at the two-year anniversary date for the ReBirth site (October 12, if you're curious), but with the new Netflix series out -- the first bit of new Castlevania content in ages (and maybe the only content we're going to get in the West for a long time) -- it seemed fitting to push the launch date up and do it now.

Speaking of the TV series, we've watched it and our review is up in the Flicks section. Spoiler alert, it's pretty good. Why haven't you watched it already?

While we were at it, though, we also added a few more articles. Bios have been thrown in for Soma Cruz and Julius Belmont. We also had to update the Chronology page for 1999 AD as we realized we had some incorrect info about Julius on there.

We recognize it's been a little while since we updated this place. That's not because we forgot about it as it's always been at the back of our minds. We've just had a lot of other projects in the fire and this site had to take a back seat for a little while. However, we're back with a chunk of updates, fleshing out the bios section a whole lot more.

On that front we have new bios up for Juste Belmont, Cornell, Carrie Fernandez, Nathan Graves, Eric Lecarde, John Morris, Henry Oldrey, Reinhardt Schneider, and Maxim Kischine. That's a whole lot of new characters in one big blast.

We've also started back in on reviewing movies, kicking off with the new The Mummy that just came out, then following it with the last time Universal tried to reboot their monster franchise, Dracula Untold. And then I realized I hated myself and wrote up reviews of Twilight 2: New Moon, Twilight 3: Eclipse, Twilight 4: Breaking Dawn, and Twilight 5: Breaking Dawner -- I hate this series, and I hate myself even more because I watched them all. Ugh.

To wash the taste of those horrible movies out of our brains we then watched and reviewed, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell, finishing off all of the Hammer Frankie movies we can watch here in the states. We then started up the classic Universal Mummy series with The Mummy 1932. Finally, we finished our deep dive of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. Reviewing this series reminded us that we still hadn't reviewed the Buffy TV show, the original Buffy movie, or the spin-off series Angel. So we rectified that.

We'll keep coming back and updating this site although we're not sure how frequently. If nothing else, we'll try to get a few big batches like this up during the year to keep all our fans happy. Until next time!
